Job Description
Cymtec Systems is looking for a Security Research Engineer to join our highly talented and rapidly expanding team at our Headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. This position will be responsible for threat research analysis and development. The Research Engineer will create and update policy rules in the company’s propagation protection solution, Cymtec Sentry as well as the development of security content/signature releases for our intrusion detection solution, Cymtec Scout. The Research Group with also be responsible for conducting research on emerging products, services, protocols and standards in support of security efforts.
Candidates should be highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment that rewards technical excellence. A bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.

@ffernet Security — Snort Administrator and Security Analyst
Job Description
Daily administration of client-owned IDSs and firewalls,
analysis of captured traffic,
assisting clients with incident response,
log file analysis, and
threat analysis.
Requires rock solid knowledge of:
snort on Linux,
tcpdump on Linux,
Linux system administration ( we have all distros )
shell scripting on Linux, and
packet analysis on Linux.
Useful Skills:
Experience administering Cisco Pix, Cisco Routers, Netscreen, Smoothwall, and other firewalls is a plus.
Experience with sendmail, spamassassin, openssl, certificate administration is a plus.
Experience writing your own programs with PHP, C, C++, python, perl, or Java would be useful.
Experience with pen-testing including being able to write your own POC exploits will be useful.
Applicant must be willing to learn something new every day. If you think you know it all already, this job will quickly demonstrate otherwise.
Applicant must really enjoy white hat network and server security.
